Mexico City, April 2025 – The National Electric System (SEN) is at a pivotal moment as it faces challenges driven by industrial growth and the sustained increase in electricity demand. According to the 2024–2038 PRODESEN, national peak demand will reach 80,000 MW by 2038, making timely execution and the adoption of new technologies in both current and future projects crucial for driving the country’s economic development.

In this context, SPIC-Zuma Energía celebrates a new milestone in its path toward operational innovation and technical excellence with the launch of remote operations at the Zuma Energía Generation Control Center (CCGZE), in compliance with all regulatory and technical requirements established by the National Center for Energy Control (CENACE).

With this advancement, SPIC-Zuma Energía aligns with CENACE’s efforts to modernize, digitalize, and strengthen regulatory compliance in the operation of power generation assets. It also becomes the second company nationwide to officially consolidate the Centralized Generation Control in accordance with current regulations.

“This achievement represents nearly three years of continuous work and collaboration across multiple areas of the company. It is a fundamental step toward continuing to support the National Electric System with efficient, scalable, and transparent operations,” said Richard Xie, CEO of SPIC-Zuma Energía.

The new operating model centralizes real-time monitoring and control of generation assets through digital tools. This enables rapid response to system events and CENACE requests, 24/7 continuous operations under protocols aligned with national standards, optimization of technological resources, and greater transparency in audits and regulatory reporting.

This transformation strengthens SPIC-Zuma Energía’s commitment and mission to be a strategic ally in Mexico’s energy transition. Remote operation enhances the reliability of power dispatch, reduces operational losses, and contributes to the country’s energy security.
