At SPIC-Zuma Energía, one of our key projects to promote a sustainable future is Potrero Solar Park. Here are some key facts about this park.

How much energy does Potrero Solar Park generate?

Potrero Solar Park has an installed capacity of 296,000 MW peak and generated 730 GW/hour of energy in 2023, enough to supply 295,000 homes with average consumption. Thanks to this clean energy generation, we prevent the emission of approximately 365,000 tons of CO2, equivalent to the emissions of a conventional fossil fuel power plant.

What environmental actions are being carried out?

Potrero Solar Park is not only focused on generating renewable energy but also on protecting local flora and fauna. As part of our environmental initiatives, we conduct daily and constant monitoring of endemic species in the region, such as the Smilisca dentata burrowing frog, a species found only in the Altos de Jalisco, Zacatecas, and Aguascalientes.

How do we benefit local communities?

Through our social programs, we support nearby communities, one example being the Churintzio Clinic. This rural clinic is fully operated by Potrero Solar Park personnel and provides primary medical care to people in surrounding communities. Additionally, SPIC-Zuma Energía supplies free medications to ensure complete treatment for patients. The clinic offers physical examinations, consultations with certified doctors, and, if necessary, refers patients to a second level of care.
