Since 2021, the employees of Parque Solar Santa María have formed a 7-a-side football team known today as the "Coyotes."

The Coyotes have participated in the Municipal League of Nuevo Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, facing various challenges and achieving notable performances in six consecutive tournaments. Their dedication and effort led them to qualify for the playoffs twice: first in the tournament from May to October 2021 and again in the tournament from November 2023 to April 2024. 

The team’s most recent success occurred in the tournament that concluded on April 13, 2024. In this tournament, the Coyotes not only advanced to the playoffs but also won two knockout matches, reaching the third-tier final. 

The excellent performance in the previous tournament led the Coyotes to be promoted to the second-tier category, according to league rules. Currently, the team is among the top five in the standings.

More Than Just a Game

For the Coyotes' members, participating in these weekly sports activities goes beyond competition. The game environment promotes fundamental values such as respect, discipline, and teamwork. These values not only strengthen the team but are also reflected in their daily lives and work at Parque Solar Santa María.

A Name with Meaning

The name "Coyotes" was not chosen by chance. At Parque Solar Santa María, there is constant monitoring of wildlife, and the coyote (Canis latrans) is a species frequently sighted and recorded through camera traps and plaster-cast footprints. This name honors the local fauna and reinforces the bond between the team and their natural surroundings.

Community and Support

The Coyotes 7-a-side football team is not only composed of plant employees but also includes family and friends. This diverse mix of players has created an inclusive and supportive environment. In every match, the community and families gather to cheer for the Coyotes, creating an exciting atmosphere.
