Due to the complex situation faced by the community of Miguel Alemán, Sonora, during the pandemic, we contributed to the "Unidos por Miguel Alemán Community Kitchen” by providing basic food products, as well as hygiene and protection kits to prevent the spread of COVID so that children and older adults in a migrant situation could have access to healthy, good quality food that will help them cope with the pandemic. At the same time, training was also given to the kitchen staff and in general to the attendees on the protocols set by the SSA regarding COVID.

The main objectives achieved with this initiative:

• We collaborated in a direct way so that children and older adults in vulnerable situations due to their migrant status, had access to a balanced and healthy diet, thus allowing parents to focus their income on other needs.
• Kitchen staff and parents were trained in prevention issues and measures established by the health sector for the prevention of COVID-19.
• We facilitated the linkage with the Health Sector of Hermosillo so that they could go to the community of Miguel Aleman to carry out campaigns through their commissary.
